Intuitive Wellness Spa Branding Photography. Walbridge Ohio. Commercial Photographer.

Clarissa is the owner of Intuitive Wellness Spa in Walbridge, Ohio. We were connected through a mutual friend when Clarissa was looking for someone to take her headshots and branding photos. Clarissa had been investing in taking her business to the next level and professional images were a part of the strategy.

Intuitive Wellness Spa is such a thoughtful and relaxing space. Each piece of Clarissa’s studio creates a calm and soothing atmosphere. It was a joy to capture every beautiful detail.

Clarissa wanted a few traditional headshots and photos of her greeting and working with a client. Seeing smiling faces of real people on a website can be very appealing to potential clients. Zero photos, or even stock photos, do not have the same impact as personalized photos of a real experience with your business.

Introducing Clarissa of Intuitive Wellness Spa:

  • What do you do? Hi! I'm Clarissa E. Voorhees, Licensed Massage Therapist, Master Level Reiki Practitioner, Board Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Coach and Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Certified Practitioner of Time Line Therapy I offer comprehensive holistic therapies to facilitate the healing of physical, spiritual, and emotional pain.

  • Why do you love what you are doing? Navigating through the world while dealing with chronic pain is terrible, especially when there's a life out there worth living. Trust me, I know! I've had physical pain from various surgeries due to injury or disease. I've lived with spiritual pain as I attempted to navigate through the grief process after losing my father 20 years ago. My battle with emotional pain stemmed from living in a world where I sacrificed so much in an effort to try to become bigger than my feelings. But the irrational and unwarranted amounts of anger, sadness, fear, hurt, and guilt seemed to always win. I know what it's like to suffer from chronic pain. But I also know what it's like to heal. That healing is natural. It is my passion and it is my duty to help other people heal from their pain, just as I've healed from mine. Using safe, natural, powerfully transformational healing modalities.

  • What is your education/experience background that has lead you to where you are now? I've always know that I am here to be a healer. It started very young with some hands-on healing. As a small child, with intensely warm hands, I always had a blind faith that if someone hurt and I touched them, they would feel better. No questions asked. Informally, I developed this hands-on healing rather organically being raised in a Spiritualist family, but my passion for healing got put on hold when my father passed away suddenly in 2001. I was lost and I didn't know what to do. I changed courses completely and pursued a degree in E-Business and I remember specifically saying "Well, getting a business degrees seems like a smart idea, and computers don't have feelings." A decade later, I admitted that I never got that degree for me. It wasn't what I wanted. In 2010, with a gentle nudge from the Universe, I found the field of Therapeutic Massage. I thought this was a perfect way to introduce that spiritual healing that I do with something that people are more familiar with. So there were two years of massage school and in that time I also formally learned my spiritual healing work. I became attuned to Master Level Reiki Practitioner and for 8 years I've worked as a very successful Licensed Massage Therapist, still navigating my own journey and trying to heal as I attempted to help others heal. And for 10 years I used my skills to work with the body and spirit. And even though my massages have helped improve my clients' quality of life, massage therapy isn't typically life changing and it just seemed as though something was missing. This year, when I was shut down for COVID, I stumbled into something that I hadn't ever considered before. I became a Board Certified Hypnotherapist and started learning about powerful healing modalities that work with the unconscious mind. You see, the unconscious mind runs the body. And the unconscious mind stores our memories, which act as a reference guide for any situation we could ever encounter. These two pieces of information are extremely powerful when it comes to transforming our lives, letting go of negative emotions and limiting decisions, getting rid of anxiety and changing the way we react to certain events in our lives. It's an honor to serve people who are trying to live with terrible, awful, chronic pain solutions that are incredibly powerful, transformational, safe, natural healing modalities.

  • Is there a piece of professional advice you received that has stuck with you on your career journey? 1% doubt is 100% self sabotage.

  • What was one of your most challenging experiences as a professional? What did you learn? How did you grow? Struggling with limiting decisions about my worth was a real challenge early in my career. What I've learned is that my worth has nothing to do with anyone but myself, and it's solely based on me living a life where I am at cause for everything that happens. Because living at the effect of everything and everyone else will not serve the world. And trust me, once you learn that, you begin living a life where you get to be bigger than your emotions and limiting decisions.

  • What value do you see in having professional branding photos of yourself and your space? It’s important for people to know what to expect and who to expect when shopping for these types of therapies. Your photos will fill the pages of my website and they give potential clients an opportunity to meet me and see my office to determine right away if they feel comfortable.

  • What stood out to you about your experience with Rebecca? Rebecca gave me an opportunity to see myself in a way that I never had before. I had an image in my mind of what I expected to see in the photos, but instead I saw a happy, successful entrepreneur who was living a really great life. Rebecca you captured my space beautifully and I'm so excited for the next photoshoot!
