At the end of last year, Jessica and I decided we wanted to personalize our client experience a little more. We reached out to Tori about designing a custom collar charm for Trumbull Photography. Tori joined us in-person for a consult/brainstorming session to pin down what we were looking for.
Welcome to FLUFF-uary! We want to share the amazing pets who have been entered in our photo session giveaway. These 27 animals are obviously all photo worthy, but only one can win. You may cast your vote once per day by filling out the form at the bottom of this post.
Any pet is a commitment to care for and protect. Their life is entirely dependent on you. Knowing what you are getting into as a pet owner is important for both you and the animal, so we strongly encourage anyone thinking about getting a new pet to do their research and never stop learning how to be the best caretaker possible.
I've worked with Jessica before, so I knew she'd be professional. She was engaged with Lola and made sure she was always comfortable. I had briefly mentioned that Lola has some neurological issues in the past, and she changed up her setup with no hesitation.
Often times, smaller animals get overlooked for the important role they play in our lives, and the joy they bring. Members of the rodent family have shorter life spans. There are people who think this gives them less value, but having a pet that is time-limited makes those moments even more precious.
I was very excited to document a new breed of cattle. The characteristic that stood out to me about these Highlanders was their curiosity. These particular cattle are not very accustomed to being up close and personal with humans but that did not stop them from trying to investigate the camera or myself. Highland cattle are known for their friendly nature with humans.
Having a foster home in which to give birth, learn to care for the puppies, and recover can be a true life saving resource. Those foster families can be difficult to find. Signing up for one dog is a big commitment, imagine having one mom dog and fourteen puppies like this litter! Planned Pethood foster, Heather, shares some of her insight from opening her home to these families in need.
I want to document a true and candid relationship, the real life version of horse and owner enjoying one another. Glamour shots are beautiful, but I want to create photos that will remind you exactly how it feels to brush their coat, to feed them their favorite snack, to see the recognition when they see you. I want to preserve the simple moments that you will miss when they are no longer with you.
He will always be my baby boy and my 65lb weighted blanket. He brings so much joy and cheer into our lives. Also a lot of mischief and borking for attention, but his positive attributes are so worth it. Titan is all fun and games until someone is upset... He will climb on top of you and force you to pet him until you feel better.
Why are professional headshots important to you? “They are the face you put out to the world, so you want them to be an honest reflection of how you look and how you present yourself to prospective clients and opposing counsel.”
I got to interact with a rescue horse who had survived abuse and had long term behavior challenges because of it. Just like dogs, a horse has an innate personality but they can also be molded by their treatment and experiences. My contact with dogs and horses has taught me that every animal has different needs when working with them. It is our primary job as photographers to make sure each animal feels safe and respected while we document them.
This personal project kept me inspired and driven. It gave me amazing experience and challenged my abilities. I got to work with new breeds and personalities. I got to play with new lighting and colors. It absolutely made me better at my job.
Photographing senior dogs is something I find very rewarding. Seeing a dog that has been so loved and cherished get to be preserved in professional photos is very meaningful. It was clear that Watson and Genny’s owners did not want to miss the opportunity to have these pictures.
We think dogs are some of the most amazing creatures, they challenge us to be better humans and give us a sort of unconditional love. This is exactly what the Christmas spirit embodies. So this Christmas, we decided that if you can Deck the Halls, you can Deck the Dogs!
Anyone who knows me, knows how much I value being good at what I do. Trusting someone else to take on a big role in my business was a little scary at first. But I have a desire to grow this business and to serve a larger clientele base. Making the choice to bring in an associate who cares just as deeply about being good at what she does, working hard, and creating lasting memories for clients is the logical next step for this business.
I think professional photos do a great job of preserving the memory of who you and your family are at that point in time. Life seems to move forward so quickly. Fortunately a camera shutter opens and closes fast enough to capture little slices of it for us to reminisce about later. It's important to remember these slices of our lives because without memories of the past, the future is oftentimes less exciting.
Charles brought his best boy, Nelsan, to my lavender field pet photo sessions at Luckey Road Lavender Farm. Nelsan is a very handsome Blue Heeler. He is extremely smart and loves to learn tricks and do activities. Check out Charles interview to get to know Nelsan!

I had amateur photos taken of my senior dog a couple years before he passed away and those photos mean the world to me. I wanted to have some for Beau as well because unfortunately, Saints do not live long. Also, Beau is considered a “special needs” dog – he suffers from a mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia. He is an ambassador for rescue, the breed, and special needs dogs everywhere.
