Ashli. Downtown Toledo Graduation Photos With Dog.

Ashli and I got connected through the work we do as volunteers with the same animal rescue organization, Planned Pethood. Ashli’s love of animals is lived out not only in her volunteer time, but also in her career choice. She decided to have me document her college graduation with some downtown senior photos. Her rescue pup, Marvin joined her as he is a big part of her life. Middlegrounds Metropark was the perfect backdrop for Ashli’s photos. Get to know Ashli:

Where are you graduating from? And what did you study? Stautzenberger College to pursue my degree in Veterinary Nursing.
Why do you love your field of study/work? Where are you working now? I love working in the veterinary field because it gives me the opportunity to be the voice for the voiceless and advocate for them. I am always seeking a challenge and a purpose in life, my job does just that for me. I am currently working in the ER at MedVet Toledo and plan to be with them for a very long time!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I enjoy spending every bit of my free time with my friends, they’re my absolute favorite humans!
What made you choose to have your dog, Marvin, in your photos with you? I only thought it was appropriate to have my dog in my graduation pictures since I graduated with a degree in the veterinary field. And let’s be honest, he is so handsome he belongs in front of the camera!

Tell me about Marv. Age, background, personality? Marvin came to me as a foster through Planned Pethood who left but came back to be mine forever. He has lived with many families prior to being mine. He’s been through a lot, he struggles with trust because of the lack of consistency he’s had in his life. Now I’m the only consistent thing he has. We have a bond that is different than I’ve had with any other dog. He has a huge personality, he’s loyal, funny, protective, and so intelligent. He’s everything I can ask for in a dog and I absolutely adore him. Marvin is stuck with me forever now.

Why was it important to you to have professional photos documenting this milestone? Graduating college is my biggest accomplishment thus far, I was so proud of myself. I graduated without a ceremony due to the pandemic, so documenting this accomplishment somehow was important to me.
What stood out to you about your experience with Rebecca? Besides her incredible talent, her experience with dogs in front of the camera stood out to me initially. I knew she would be patient with Marv while being able to get really great pictures of my crazy boy! And she met every single expectation of mine and then some!
