Women’s History month means we want to show off some of the amazing ladies we have gotten to work with. Lexie volunteered last summer to stand in for some headshots when Jessica was training. Since these photos were taken, Lexie has opened her own studio space and really begun to build her own photography brand here in Toledo. It is really wonderful to see our peers growing and contributing to our industry!

Tell us about your personality, home life and hobbies.
My name is Lexie Reese and I’m A 28 year old mom of two. My family jokes I’m the “side hustle queen” because I love all kinds of art and have managed to turn a few of them into businesses. I make custom gifts like tumblers and clothing as well as crochet and a few other products. Professionally,
What do you do professionally?
Professionally, I’m a new photographer in the Toledo Ohio area.
Why do you love what you do?
I love photography for so many reasons but one is the community. In one short year I’ve met so many wonderful people and have had the opportunity to network, learn, and teach a bit along the way.
What is something about your profession that people may not know?
Something photographers hear quote often is “Wow, your camera takes great photos!” My favorite response is “thanks, I’ve taught it everything it knows!” A common misconception is that a photographer just points and shoots but there’s so much more that goes into it. I’ve spent a year taking classes, working under a mentor and living on YouTube and there’s still so much more to learn.
Why are professional headshots important to you?
Professional headshots are important to me and my business because I want to be sure my potential clients get the best, most accurate idea of who they will meet behind the camera. You can have a beautiful website and amazing marketing but if your presentation of yourself is unprofessional, clientele will be immediately skeptical.
What stood out to you about your experience with Rebecca?
My shoot with Rebecca and Jessica was amazing. The studio was easy to find and so clean and beautiful. The setting and the ladies were very professional and I immediately felt comfortable. As a photographer myself, I tend to freeze up on the opposite end of the camera but not in Rebecca’s studio. I was relaxed and enjoyed laughing and chatting with them. The candid shots were honestly you favorite. I can’t wait to publish my new site with my headshots from Rebecca Trumbull studio.
