Jillian was the winner of my Pet Photo Shoot giveaway for my Fluff-uary pet event. Jilly had over 100 votes cast to help her win the contest. Jillian’s owner, MK, is a student at BGSU in the music program. MK brings Jillian to campus regularly and she has a real fan following. I was told the whole orchestra was voting for her.

Jillian is a Corgi-Shiba Inu mix. So. Much. Fluff. She is so cute. Jilly loved meeting me and seemed very friendly with new people. MK explained that Jillian is wary of other dogs. She may have had a bad encounter with a dog in the past and now she feels a need to protect herself from all other dogs. It is so wonderful to see a dog owner who is aware of their animal’s personality and who works hard to avoid situations that are stressful for them. I am so happy I got to meet this wonderful being.

Where did you get her?
I adopted Jilly from the Humane Society of North Texas back in September of 2017!
How old was she when you brought her home?
She was eight years old when I brought her home.
How old is she now?
She’s about 9 and a half - she’ll be 10 on September 7.

How did you choose her name?
Jillian is the name she’s always had. I initially wanted to rename her Danny, short for Daenerys, before I picked her up. But once I met her I just couldn’t rename her - Jillian is the perfect name for her!
What 3 words would you use to describe her personality?
I would call Jillian perfect, bold, and sweet.
What is her favorite toy?
She has many favorites! Currently, it’s between her Santa that she got for Christmas in 2017 from my boyfriend’s mom, or the squirrel toy that she got from one of my friends this most recent Christmas.

What do you enjoy doing together?
I love to just hang out at home with Jilly. I think she’s happiest when I’m working on my laptop on the couch or in bed and she just gets to curl up and nap next to me.
Any additional cute facts?
I could list MILLIONS of additional cute facts about Jillian, but I’ll boil it down to the most important ones! She has many nicknames, most of which are variations of one nickname: Bean. I think that came from calling her Jellybean, since I guess “Jelly” sounds like “Jilly.” Another cute fact: sometimes she steals my pillow? She always sleeps up in my bed with me, but sometimes if she’s restless, she won’t go to sleep until I give her my pillow! She’s very spoiled.
